The weather in Heraklion during fall is generally mild and sunny, perfect for sightseeing. Expect average highs in the low 70s Fahrenheit (around 20-24° Celsius) and comfortable evenings. Pack layers, as temperatures can drop, especially in the evenings near the sea.

Let's talk food! Crete is a foodie paradise. You absolutely must try dakos (a barley rusk topped with tomato, feta, and olive oil), kalitsounia (cheese pastries), and fresh seafood.
