Etosha in the shoulder season offers pleasant temperatures, perfect for exploring without the usual summer scorch. Expect daytime highs around 25-30°C (77-86°F) and cooler evenings. Pack layers – it can get chilly at night! The mood is generally relaxed and jovial; both locals and tourists enjoy the less-crowded parks.
Our Namibian adventure begins with a scenic flight from Windhoek (cost: approximately $500 per couple). From there, we'll settle into our comfortable lodge – think stunning views and maybe even a watering hole for some late-night wildlife viewing (lodging for 6 people for 5 nights : approximately $3000 total). Our days will be filled with unforgettable game drives within Etosha. Remember your binoculars!
Food glorious food! Expect delicious, hearty meals at the lodge, featuring fresh, local ingredients. Think grilled meats, hearty stews, and of course, pap (a maize porridge). We'll also sample traditional Namibian cuisine at local restaurants (budget $150 per couple for food outside the lodge). We'll even learn how to prepare some simple local dishes, all part of the cultural immersion!
The Etosha National Park isn't just about wildlife. We'll explore the rich history and culture of Namibia, learning about the Himba people and their unique traditions.
